After a year working in Paris as a Language Assistant, I decided to move back home to Detroit to give corporate life a try. I worked as a Digital Marketing Specialist for GM Canada for 2 years where I was able to work primarily with French speaking clients. As much as I loved my job, and especially the opportunity it gave me to continue to use my French outside of France, I knew that the life of a 9 to 5 with 3 weeks of vacation a year was not for me. After much deliberation, I decided I would move back to Paris in 2018 to pursue the life that makes me the most happy. Thanks for following my journey.

“عصفورة” or “baby bird” is the nickname my mother has called me my whole life. When coming up with the name for my blog, I wanted something that would encompass not only my love for travel and the desire be free, but touch on my upbringing and my Middle Eastern roots as well.
